Peachey Family Farm Survey = 1/2 Off a Panini!

IWFM Farmer Sylvan Peachey has asked that we help make this survey available, and we are happy to do so. You can print the survey, fill it out, and bring it with you the next time you come to market and get 1/2 off a grilled cheese panini! Even better, you get the opportunity to express your own thoughts, opinions and desires in the development of new market products!

IUPUI - Food for Thought - Local Food, Global Impact

Can we have a discussion about how we choose what we eat?
Date: March 06, 2010
Time: 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Location: University Place Conference Center and Hotel
850 W. Michigan Street, Indianapolis.

Discussions around how we choose what we eat, local food and global impact will be the focus at an upcoming continuing education conference presented by the IUPUI Alumni Association. Inspired by IUPUI's inaugural Common Theme book, Deep Economy by Bill McKibben, and the 2010 Spirit & Place theme, a distinguished panel of faculty and local experts will explore how and why we consume food – its sources, quality, culture, and markets and the consequences of our consumption on our local and worldwide community. Join thought provoking discussions and be prepared to challenge your current way of thinking while joining others who share a passion for learning and engagement.

Pre-registration is required for this event as seating is limited.

For more information, registration and to download a brochure for the event visit the IUPUI web site or contact Kimberly Helton at 317-274-8905 or by email at kdhelton@iupui.edu. You may also access information online at www.alumni.iupui.edu.

OPEN Super Bowl Saturday

The snow continues to fall, but for those who feel they can safely make it to market tomorrow, WE WILL BE OPEN!

We have had some of our scheduled vendors who were announced in the newsletter cancel due to rural roads or travel distance in wintry weather. Those NOT coming tomorrow include:

Brown Family Farm
Heartland Family Farm
Homestead Growers
KGAcres
Lena's Mediterranean Kitchen
Simpson's Farm
Skillington Farm
Wild Alaska Salmon
Willowfield Lavender Farm

Others may not be able to make it, but as of 7:15 a.m., we still have 40 fabulous vendors planning to be there this morning! Please make safe and wise decisions about whether you'll join us. Drive slowly, and come a little later perhaps!

See you there!
